MoU with Dell Technologies Pvt. Ltd

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) and Dell Technologies solidified their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve academic delivery by including industry perspective to curriculum and courses especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence , Cyber Security and Storage Management. The ceremony, held on 5th February 2024 witnessed the formalization of this strategic alliance with Prof. Jose Mathew, Chairman of CIIR, signing on behalf of Director NITC.The Dell team consisted of Mr. Shelesh Chopra, Senior Director, Software Engineering, Mr. Ravi Chitloor, Senior Director and Senior Distinguished Engineer, Mr. Sachin Sabyasachi Consultant Talent Acquisition, Ms. Supriya Kannery Architect Software Engineering, Mr. Praveen KR Director Software Engineering, Mr. Ravi Shukla Consultant Data science and Mr. Rohit Nambiar Senior Advisor, Program Management. The meeting was addressed by Director Prof. Prasad Krishnan who stressed on the importance of industry inputs in helping students being better engineers. The meeting was attended by Dr. Shyamasundara, Registrar, Prof. S. D. Madhu Kumar Chairman CITRA, Dr. Subhasree M, HoD CSED , Prof. Priya Chandran Dean P&D, Prof. Sandhya Rani Dean R&C, and Heads of Various Departments. Internship for NITC students in Dell Technologies, Dell sponsored workshops for NITC students and Co-teaching on selected courses in the CSE Department are a few items of collaboration in the agreement. Both the parties had an active discussion on identifying future avenues of collaboration in form including setting up of a Dell sponsored R&D Lab at NIT Calicut. Day also witnessed a talk on “Generative AI” and interaction with faculty and student with the visiting team from Dell Technologies.
